Background
Epithelial-mesenchymal transformation is a critical event in the development of many organ systems including heart. Transforming Growth Factor (TGF ) is one of a number of factors that mediates this transformation.Antibodies directed against TGF Type II recepttor block both the endicardial cell activation and subsequent migration that constitute transformation in the chick atrioventricular (AV) cushion.
