High Quality Antibody Reagents

BIOLOGO

Company Overview

Acquired in 2018, Nordic-MUbio is the new home for Biologo’s range of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies. Biologo branded reagents include primary antibodies for life science research related to advanced glycation end-products (AGE), the extracellular matrix and various cancers. Highly validated and widely cited, they are suitable for use in applications such as immunohistochemistry, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and western blotting.

Advanced glycation end-products

Advanced glycation end-products are a diverse group of proteins and lipids that become glycated after exposure to sugars. Many of them are used as biomarkers of aging, and both advanced glycation end-products and their receptors have been implicated in degenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, atherosclerosis, and chronic kidney disease. Due to the involvement of sugars in producing these biomolecules, advanced glycation end-products have also been studied to investigate their role in cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Top selling product highlight: With a broad species reactivity, polyclonal rabbit anti AGE (AGE102-1.0) can detect different AGE products in tissues, tissue extracts and bodily fluids via ELISA.

Extracellular matrix

The extracellular matrix forms a scaffold around cells, providing both structural integrity and enabling vital functions such cell migration, adhesion and communication. Collagen is the major structural protein in the extracellular matrix, its triple-helical structure providing strength and performing an essential role supporting angiogenesis, tissue morphogenesis and repair. Proteins such as fibronectin, laminin and elastin are also of interest to researchers investigating the extracellular matrix and its association with wound healing and diseases such as cancer. Top selling product highlight: Suitable for use in multiple applications, polyclonal rabbit anti mouse fibronectin (FI24951) can be utilised in studies on wound healing, tumour progression and tumour invasion.

Cancer

Cancer is a highly complex disease, requiring investigation of a vast range of biological processes. These not only encompass the cell cycle, angiogenesis and epigenetics, but also immunology, inflammation and DNA repair. Biologo antibodies developed to support the study of cancer include both rabbit and mouse monoclonals, several of which have been combined in various cocktails to facilitate the investigation of multiple proteins in parallel. Top selling product highlights: Monoclonal antibodies - mouse anti human MSH2, clone FE11 (MSH2002) suitable for the detection of mismatch repair protein 2 in colorectal carcinomas, and rabbit anti human AMACR, clone 13H4 (P504S) suitable for the detection of alpha-methylacyl CoA racemase in prostate carcinoma tissue.
